Interactive One’s pro-social website, BlackPlanetRising.com, aims to mobilize the Black community by introducing and encouraging acts of service and social change. By connecting audiences to various philanthropic opportunities, the site empowers individuals to champion a cause they believe in, in turn, make a positive change in their community. By serving as a platform for social and civic engagement, BlackPlanetRising is dedicated to providing tools and resources that inform, inspire, and motivate action.

As part of our mission, we deliver many ways for motivated individuals to get involved AND be personally fulfilled in the process. We encourage you to identify the causes you are passionate about and to leverage BlackPlanetRising as a vehicle for supporting those initiatives. Whether it’s through donating your time, money, or expertise to a worthy cause, you’ll be making a substantial impact.

BlackPlanetRising has forged partnerships with two organizations to foster “giving back within our communities. The first supports Interactive One’s social mission agenda of shaping the next generation of future leaders through emphasis on “education”. We have partnered with DonorsChoose.org, which connects you to public school classrooms in need. In collaboration with DonorsChoose.org, BlackPlanet audiences are able to deliver impact through microgiving, with affordable donations of $5 or more that become part of larger collective giving campaigns that support people in need. Interactive One matches these donations, dollar for dollar, on select programs through a Double Your Impact campaign.
